Network Mapping

TL;DR

Lumics has several powerful ways to see how all your devices are connected: geographical, logical, and dependency.

Geographical maps show where each device is physically located and what other devices it is connected to.

See at a glance which devices are up or down and if there are patterns.

Lumics logical maps show how devices are connected to each other via subnets.

Dependency mapping shows how devices are organized in parent-child-grandchildetc relationships.

Alerts from dependent devices can be muted or combined when an upstream device is down or having issues so you aren’t overwhelmed with duplicate alerts.

Geographical

Lumics’ geographical mapping shows the physical location of each of your devices on a world map so you can quickly see how equipment is physically organized.

In a single glance you can see the status (up/down/paused) of the device and how devices are connected to each other.

Hover over a device to see quick information about the device, and click on a device to jump to the detailed device dashboard and to troubleshoot issues. Hover over a connecting line between devices to see bandwidth and latency data between devices.

Search to zoom to a specific device or highlight a group of devices instantly.

You can also draw custom connections between devices and groups of devices for visual organization and to share with customers or other members of your team.

Logical

Lumics’ logical mapping is a cloud or spider web-style visualization of how all your devices are connected to each other from a subnet standpoint.

As with the other mapping views, you can quickly see device status and critical information for any device. You can hover over a device to see additional information about the device.

Clicking on a device will jump you to the detailed device dashboard and let you troubleshoot issues quickly.

You can also search to zoom in on a specific device instantly, and see which other devices are on the same subnet. Filter and focus on specific devices or groups by subnet, IP address, name, or location.

"Lumics is so fast!"

"Lumics has been a game changing product."

"The data is very actionable."

"Rare among current monitoring tools."

"Engineers can be engineers and not monitoring tool administrators"

"We can monitor thousands of devices with one tool…it just works!"

"The granular data Lumics provides is a game changer!"

"It runs super quickly."

"Lumics provides all the insights we need to make quick operational decisions."

Dependency

Lumics’ dependency mapping shows an expandable and collapsable diagram of how devices are dependent on each other and how they are grouped together from a connectivity standpoint.

You can see status and other basic device information at a single glance, and can tell which devices are downstream from core devices.

Hover to see the most critical information, especially if errors are being generated by a device.

Quickly search for a device and see where it sits in your network hierarchy.

Set up alerts with dependency awareness so when an upstream device has an issue you don’t get overwhelmed with alerts from downstream devices that are impacted. Get only the information you need to take informed action and solve the problem quickly.
