Lumics was built by a group of network and systems engineers in an MSP who disliked the current monitoring solutions. Tools like Solarwinds, Logicmonitor, and others were too slow, hard to troubleshoot quickly with, and/or too expensive. At first they used Lumics for their own purposes but eventually word got out and customers started using it too, so the software became its own company and a team recruited to scale it.
