In a Galaxy far far away there are self-monitoring, self-optimizing, self-healing, and self-updating networks. In our Galaxy, wicked smart network and systems engineers use Lumics to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize their networks and infrastructure. Some day we’ll get to self-aware networks, with the help of our A.I. overlords, but until then Lumics is the weapon of choice. Lumics provides a real-time comprehensive view of everything happening on your network, with the ability to instantly troubleshoot issues when they arise. Lumics is the way. This is the path the network Jedis follow.

In 2012, the world met Wreck-It Ralph and fell in love with the big guy. Then 6 years later, right before Thanksgiving in 2018, Ralph came back and broke the internet with his emotionally unstable clones in a global DoS attack. Ultimately Ralph lets go of his insecurities, deletes his clones, and makes amends with his good friend Vanellope. During all the main plot action, however, Lumics’ own Fran G, the systems OG, fixed the intranet for hundreds of customers and saved them from this, and many other, DoS attacks using Lumics network and systems monitoring to stay in front of any network and infrastructure problems. Fran’s story didn’t make even the Director’s cut for the movie, but he will go down in Lumics lore as one of the great unsung heroes of our day.

Not everything is as it seems. Especially in the world of network and systems monitoring. How can you discover the truth? Find out who the good actors and the bad actors really are and respond quickly? Lumics is the answer. Lumics helps MSPs and internal IT teams monitor, optimize, and protect their communications and data flows and keep their networks green and golden.

The Network is Running, Man

It’s not easy being a network or systems engineer. You work in the shadows, you drag cables through crawl spaces, you keep outdated and under-spec’d hardware alive as long as possible, and hardly anyone knows you’re there until something goes wrong. Lumics is the weapon of choice for the unsung heroes in that world. You keep the networks running, man! We’re trying to make your job, and your life, easier. We see you. We appreciate you. You keep us all connected and keep the data and dollars flowing! You got this.

No sleight of hand here. Lumics is stealing customers from big incumbents in the network and systems monitoring industry who are changing their prices, ignoring their customers, and tricking them into buying packages of services that include stuff they don’t need. What we do isn’t magic. It’s just putting customers first and consistently doing the right thing.

On July 3, 1985 Marty McFly drove into his past in a flux-capacitor-fueled Delorean, an iconic stainless-steel sportscar that, in appearance, was the great grandaddy of the cybertruck.
When Marty later travelled to 2025 (this visit was cut from the movies due to time constraints ;-)) he met with some of his grandkids who had founded a network and systems monitoring tool called Lumics.
He told them that Lumics was “far out” and that he was proud of what they’d built and the type of people they had become.
Lumics helps network and systems engineers stay on top of their most valuable asset – their communications and data lifeline – to make sure their businesses keep running smoothly and everything is groovy.

42 years ago, The Right Stuff launched. An exciting and entertaining tribute to the men and women who were willing to push the boundaries of what was possible with flight and space exploration, and who in some cases sacrificed it all to push the country, and the world, forward. Lumics honors the innovators, the inventors, the explorers, the risk-takers, and the bold souls who challenge the status quo to make the world better. Lumics helps MSP and in-house network and systems engineers keep their networks running smoothly. A critical, and mostly overlooked and under-appreciated role – until something goes wrong. Like many of the mostly forgotten, behind-the-scenes heroes of the early space program that, with creativity and ingenuity, helped our astronauts go where no man had gone before, the engineers we work with keep critical systems working in hospitals, airlines, banks, first-responder hubs, military bases, and more. We see you. We appreciate you. Our mission is to make your critical mission easier and less stressful.

Network and systems engineers are the mostly unseen protectors and miracle workers that keep our communications and commerce lifelines (networks and critical systems infrastructure) safe and working properly. Most of the time – especially when everything is good – you may hardly know they exist. Working in the literal closets, crawl spaces, and shadows they keep us connected and keep our hospitals, universities, banks, companies, entertainment, and social spaces operating as expected. Lumics supports these guardians with tools to help them excel at their critical mission. At Lumics we’re helping them serve up network miracles daily.

If you’re a network or systems engineer your job is to keep the bad guys out and the good guys operating at peak efficiency. Lumics helps the digital defenders and optimizers of a company’s lifeblood – their network – stay in front of any potential issues, create and monitor instant communications pathways, and shut down any sparks of trouble before they become infrastructure insurrections.

Based on a fairly believable but nonetheless impressive story of some gritty network and systems engineers, Root Man chronicles the highs and lows, laughter and tears, and friendships forged while building a world-class network and systems monitoring platform (Lumics) with no outside investment. Nobody’s breaking in to your network while Root Man is in the house.

Can you believe the movie Hotel Transylvania just celebrated its 13th birthday? While Lumics isn’t that old, we have been around long enough to know how to help you keep scary stuff from happening to your network, systems and infrastructure. If you’re a network or systems engineer, or own an MSP, check out our website for some genuine treats. Some work-related, some just for fun.

“The business of life is the acquisition of memories. In the end, that’s all there is.” Had the internet existed in the 1920’s, we’re confident the Crawley family would have selected Lumics to monitor and manage their network and infrastructure.

While we try not to take ourselves too seriously, we do take network and systems monitoring very seriously. Your network is the lifeblood of your business. No network, no business. At Lumics, we help our customers and our MSP partners stay on top their network performance so their business always runs smoothly.
The Monitoring Seven

The Monitoring Seven

Lumics was built by a group of network and systems engineers in an MSP who disliked the current monitoring solutions. Tools like Solarwinds, Logicmonitor, and others were too slow, hard to troubleshoot quickly with, and/or too expensive. At first they used Lumics for their own purposes but eventually word got out and customers started using it too, so the software became its own company and a team recruited to scale it.
