Lumics uses “Collectors” – which can reside on an existing server or virtual machines behind your firewall, or a dedicated MiniPC. These are very lightweight devices (4x CPU, 8GB of RAM, 40GB Disk Space, Rocky Linux OS (64-bit)). These Collectors gather data from all your networked devices via SNMP, WMI, or APIs, then package it and send it to the Lumics cloud through a secure connection where it is stored, analyzed, and presented in near real-time on your Dashboards and summarized for your Reports and Alerts.
Lumics doesn’t charge for Collectors, so you can have as many as you need in our base pricing, saving you thousands of dollars on hardware and OS licenses compared to an on-prem monitoring solution.
